Dre Chelsea Delorme, chiropractor D.C. | Chiropractor Hull Aylmer
Dr. Chelsea Delorme developed a passion for movement and the human body at a young age as a competitive dancer and later as a dance educator and choreographer. She was intrigued by proper training and movement in order to build strength, mobility, and control. During this time, she became more acutely aware of all the benefits of movement, exercise and physical activity, as well as of the negative consequences of injuries that could be caused by certain repetitive or improper movements. As a dance educator, she has always focused on prevention through specific and appropriate conditioning to prepare the body for each new challenge and to avoid future injury. These interests brought her to the University of Ottawa and Carleton University where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours, and psychology degree. Following this, she was admitted to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) where she studied anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, orthopedics, diagnostics and radiology. After 4 years of study, she received her doctorate in chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
Dr. Delorme is dedicated to the health and well-being of her patients. She uses evidence-informed chiropractic care to help patients minimize pain, maximize function, and prevent injuries, addressing the cause of dysfunction . If you have an injury, increased pain or difficulty moving, Dr. Delorme is here to help. She has experience in acute and chronic conditions such as neck and back pain, herniated discs, sciatic problems, rib problems, headaches, whiplash, tendonitis and repetitive microtraumas, frozen shoulder, sprains and strains, knee and hip pain, foot problems, pregnancy related musculoskeletal pain, and nerve compression conditions. Dr. Delorme will work with you to find the cause of your problem by providing professional, caring and effective treatment to address your concerns.
In her treatments, she uses a variety of techniques, with a particular focus on manual adjustments and mobilizations of the spine and extremities, muscle release techniques (MRT), instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and progressive rehabilitation exercises (stretching, strengthening, etc.). Dre. Delorme will work with you to find the cause of your problem. She offers you patient- centered, evidence-informed care that aims to help you reach your goals and get back to the life you love.
She is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Quebec Chiropractic Association, and she is registered with the Quebec Order of Chiropractors. When Dr. Delorme is not at the clinic, she likes to stay active by training, and maintaining a yoga practice. She also enjoys teaching community movement and training classes.
Charlotte Beaudoin, Massage Therapist | Massage therapy Plateau Gatineau
Massage Therapist accredited by le Réseau des massothérapeutes professionnels du Québec (receipt for insurance available)
Passionate about the body and its deep roots in the development of the person, over the past 25 years I have been involved in various educational and health settings in order to offer courses and lectures on self- Stress management and wellness, train active people, teach yoga classes and meditation, and offer professional coaching and massage therapy.
My initial training in kinesiology opened me up to all the riches and complexities of the human body, and from that moment I have not stopped studying it and experimenting various bodily and psychological approaches to maintain our health and contribute to the state of well-being sought. It was this passion that led me to undertake my first training in massage therapy in 2004 (450 hours in Swedish massage), at the Gatineau Massage and Orthotherapy Academy. During my massage therapy, I use all my knowledge and experiences to help my clients achieve a better quality of life.
Over the years, I have acquired various massage techniques including the Hawaiian massage, Lomi Lomi. This approach is a body-mind care par excellence that helps to calm the internal agitation to regain serenity, an inner peace and thus reduce the harmful effects of stress. The combination of these various styles and techniques of massage makes my approach soft and powerful at the same time, allowing a relaxation of great bodily as well as mental internal tensions.
Meanwhile, an assiduous practice of meditation and Hatha yoga (traditional approach) has settled into my daily life. For me yoga is a way of life; its philosophy, psychology and practice of postures (asanas) bring me many benefits including that of calming my questions to keep me in the present moment, integrating a deep breath and keeping my body flexible and full of life. All this inspired me to undertake some training to become a yoga teacher. In 2010 and 2013, I completed a 500-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training (including Vinyasa Flow) with Sylvie Gouin, and a 60-hour Yin Yoga teacher training with Marla Erikson. I have more than 2000 hours of teaching experience, either with groups or private individual sessions. Teaching and individual guidance is at the heart of my life! It is with great respect and gratitude that I offer a benevolent presence. Whether it is in massage therapy or yoga or in a workshop on meditation, for me every encounter is a unique opportunity to receive the person in his or her needs and put me at his service to accompany him to achieve his goals.
Finally, in 2009 and 2012, I also completed two professional coaching training. My motivation for professional coaching comes from my passion for the human development. To work with the body is also to witness that all human psychology and our agitated lives leave deep traces in us. My first training in management coaching enabled me to become better acquainted with the issues of managing human resources. While my second training focused on Wellness coaching, I was able to refine my knowledge and tools to accompany people toward this state of well-being sought. It is thus equipped with all of this knowledge and life experiences that I offer a presence both dynamic and sensitive to accompany you in a process to set up a way of life consistent with your deep values.
